I was just 32 years old with a 9-month old daughter when I was told I had colon cancer. No family history of this awful disease and yet here I was…given about a 50% chance of seeing my beautiful daughter start kindergarten. However, because of an early diagnosis, great physicians, an agressive approach to treatment, prayers from famly and friends and a deep faith that gave me the true belief I could conquer this disease, last August I watched my daughter graduate from college. I now devote time and energy getting the message out that colon cancer is preventable, treatable, and beatable. I want everyone to understand the key to beating colon cancer is appropriate screening and an early diagnosis. Together…we can save lives and watch our children grow up!
