My mom is over 50 and I really want her to get tested for colon cancer but she’s reluctant. My dad gets colonoscopies regularly, but she won’t do it. Any advice on what I can say or do?

I would ask her why she is so reluctant first. Perhaps she has fears of the procedure itself. Once you have narrowed in on what is stopping her, you could maybe easy those fears by providing her with more information on screenings. There are lots of great resources that walk you through a colonoscopy and will answer any questions someone might have about it.
There also are some great celebrity campaigns that give a good message and make colonoscopies not sound so taboo. If celebrities can do it, so can she!
